Lens Mount

A lens mount is a critical component in photography and cinematography, providing the interface between a camera body and its interchangeable lenses. This mechanical and sometimes electronic connection ensures that lenses can be securely attached, accurately aligned, and easily swapped on the camera.

Lens mounts come in various types, each designed to fit specific camera brands and models. Common examples include the Canon EF mount, Nikon F mount, and Sony E mount. These mounts are precisely engineered to maintain the correct distance between the lens and the camera sensor, known as the flange focal distance, which is essential for achieving proper focus and image quality.
